2022–2023 Concert Series
Welcome back to another season of Music by the River. Hosted by the beautiful St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg. We hope that you have missed enjoying live performances as much as we have and we are thrilled to offer you three outstanding concerts this season.
We are currently “mask optional” but will continue to monitor COVID outbreaks and CDC recommendations.
A Tribute Concert to honour the life and reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
Our season begins with a celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Presented by the Grantham Consort and director by Jordan Markham, this concert will include Coronation anthems, instrumental music written for the Royal family, congregational hymns that are a favorite of her Majesty and select readings. Tea and sweets to be served prior to the concert beginning at 6:00 p.m. There may also be a special opportunity to take a photo with “the Queen” herself.
Tickets are $25 general seating and $5 for students
Mainstreet Brass
Friday, December 2, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
The Mainstreet Brass from Bethlehem, PA will bring a holiday program that is sure to please adults and children alike. It will include nostalgic music familiar to all and will take a look back at the music that echoed in the great halls of Elizabethan England with aspiring arrangements of some of the best-loved carols that warm the heart during this special time of year. A not-to-be missed experience for the whole family. This is a free concert and offered as our gift to the community.
This event is free, however, tickets are required.
Prometheus Ukrainian Male Chorus of Philadelphia
Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.
One of the oldest Ukrainian male choirs in the world, the Prometheus Ukrainian Male Chorus of Philadelphia was founded in 1962 and has a long and distinguished history. They have toured throughout Europe in the 1980’s and performed in the Ukraine in 1995. This year they celebrate their 60th anniversary. Named for the Titan god of fire, who was the champion of humankind, the choir strives for the highest degree of musicianship. Prometheus continues to maintain a rich and colorful repertoire to enable audiences to experience the great beauty of Ukrainian choral tradition, performing religious, folk and patriotic pieces.
Tickets are $25 general seating and $5 for students
All performances are held in historic St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, 221 North Front Street, Harrisburg.

From 81: Take the Front Street exit (downtown), turn left on Locust Street, then left on North River Street. The garage will be on your left.
From 83: Take the 2nd Street exit, turn left on Pine Street, left on Front Street, left on Locust Street, then left on North River Street. The garage will be on your left.

PHFA Parking Garage
FREE, handicapped accessible parking is available at the PHFA garage. The garage is on River Street between Front and 2nd Streets (see map). An attendant will be at the entrance to assist you.
Street Parking
Street parking on 2nd, Locust, or Pine Streets is free on Sundays, holidays, and after 7 pm on weekdays and Saturdays.
